A Message from The Principal Class Team

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

We write to update you on the current COVID 19 virus as it pertains to Woodville Primary School. We remain committed to making each decision in the best possible interests of all students and staff at Woodville along with our extended community. We are dealing with a rapidly evolving situation within which it is essential that we continue to focus on facts and follow the advice of government and professionals.

At the time of writing no student or staff member at Woodville has tested positive to the virus. Advice from Authorities including Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Department of Education and Training (DET), is that the school should continue to operate with a number of adjustments in place to reduce the chance of the virus entering the school community and spreading within the community.

We encourage all members of our community to be vigilant with hand washing and keeping a safe social distance from others. We also encourage all members of the community to be aware of and comply fully with all government direction regarding self-isolation in the event of returning from overseas travel or close contact with any person who has tested positive.
In reporting your child absent it will assist us greatly if you provide information as to why he/she is away and we ask your help with this. Please do this by calling the office on 9749-2770 and press 1 for the absence line and leave a message as to why your child is away and for how long.

In the event of school closure it is critical that each student engage fully with the learning arrangements as it is possible that these arrangements may need to be in place for some weeks.
Should you, your child or someone with whom you have direct contact contract the virus please call 0429 268 510. This number is direct to Lyn, Jodi or Nadia, and will enable us to support you, and the rest of the community in keeping safe and healthy. PLEASE, only call this number if it is a confirmed case. For all other concerns or student absences continue to call the school office.
