Welcome to Woodville Primary School

Woodville Primary School is located in Hoppers Crossing in the city of Wyndham. The school was established in 1973 to cater for the newly developed sub-division of Woodville. It grew rapidly to accommodate over 900 children and has been providing quality, comprehensive education to children in the area since that time.

The school has a current enrolment of 403 students. We operate a traditional program with teachers working together in Professional Learning Communities to plan and develop engaging programs suited to the needs of all students in their cohort. Students have input into their learning through the negotiation of learning goals in the key areas of reading, writing and mathematics to ensure curriculum presented is at the right level of challenge. We have high expectations – and work tirelessly to help everyone achieve their potential.

Students also participate in a range of Specialist programs – Visual Arts, Performing Arts - Music, Japanese and Physical Education. Homework, Japanese and Chess Clubs are offered after school for students in Grades 3-6.

Camp Australia provides before and after school care onsite from 6.30am each morning until 6pm in the evening.

Grounds are expansive and provide a variety of active spaces including a large oval, a gaga pit, two playgrounds and spaces for collaborative construction. For those who prefer quieter pursuits there are a number of seating areas spread throughout the grounds and supervised indoor areas at lunchtime (Library and Wellbeing Centre open at second lunch).

Woodville is a School Wide Positive Behaviour School. We recognise and reward positive behaviour and adhere to the agreed expectations of:

  • Together we are Safe
  • Together we are Responsible and
  • Together we Achieve.

Our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Inclusiveness are lived in all interactions. We are proud of our school community and every member in it – from the smallest Prep to the eldest grandparent.

We are committed to providing quality teaching and learning experiences in a safe, productive and caring environment. We recognise and support all facets of your child’s development – social, emotional and physical in addition to their academic achievement. We recognise the fact that students come to Woodville with different backgrounds and experiences. Together we will embrace students’ individuality whilst moving forward as a united learning community.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school and community.
