Regular attendance at school is compulsory by law. It is also vital to help the continuity of learning experiences and social adjustment and to feel connected to the school. However, children who are not well should not attend and should be kept in the warmth and comfort of home for their and others’ well-being.
On the day of return to school a note explaining the reason for the absence is preferred however a courtesy phone call on the morning of the absence is greatly appreciated.
For infectious diseases (Chicken Pox, Measles, Scarlet Fever, Rubella and Whooping Cough, Mumps, School Sores, etc.) an exclusion table is on file at the school. Should you have any queries please feel free to contact the school. Students who fall below 90% attendance will automatically be placed on the schools attendance register and future absences closely monitored.
